Beginnings

Halcyon was founded by Gwen Fields in 1999. Having spent many years in salons all across Washington D.C., she desired an establishment that bucked the typical salon that expounded the ultra-modern, hip, and cold in favor of a warm, sensual, friendly, and inviting environment.

Since its inception at a row house on 2nd Street NE, Halcyon, with its select handful of exceptional staff, has been a haven for those seeking to refresh, rejuvenate, relax, and revive for nearly a decade. In 2007, Halcyon moved to a larger and more convenient space at 1326 8th Street NW near the Washington Convention Center. The space, architected by Christi Withers and designed by Dennese Guadeloupe, combines warm hues, natural light, soft music, and cozy spaces into an unforgettably serene environment for those who enter.

Halcyon has been serving the Washington D.C. community for nearly ten years. We look forward to serving you in the very near future.
